Turkish property sales to foreigners increased by 14.8 percent in 2019

Real estate sales to foreigners in Turkey increased in 2019 by 14.8 percent compared to the previous year, and the Libyans achieved the largest increase, and according to the data of the Turkish Statistics Authority, the number of properties sold to foreigners increased from 40 thousand during 2018 to 45 thousand and 967 during 2019.
The data, seen by Anatolia, showed that the purchase of Libyan real estate in Turkey increased by 143 percent to reach 1103 in 2019 from 454 in 2018.
Also, the purchase of real estate by Yemeni citizens in Turkey increased by 75.0 percent to 1152 during the mentioned period.
As is the case since 2015, during the past year, Iraqis continued to occupy first place the list of foreigners most buying real estate in Turkey.
The number of properties purchased by the Iraqis reached 7596 during 2019, followed by Iranians at 5423, Russians at 2,893, and Saudis at 2,208 properties.
On the other hand, the purchase of real estate by Saudi citizens in Turkey decreased by 18.8 percent during the past year compared to 2018.
The purchase of Kuwaiti citizens decreased by 13.5 percent, Germany by 7.7 percent, Iraq by 7.4 percent, Qatar by 5.6 percent and Azerbaijan by 4.7 percent.
