Turkey exported tea to 110 countries around the world in 2019, with revenues amounting to 15,247,653 dollars.
According to the data of the East Black Sea Exporters Union, Turkey exported 4 tons of tea during the past year.
This figure represents a 15 percent increase compared to 13,235,000 and $ 900 in 2018.
Belgium topped the list of Turkish tea importers in 2019, with 1,553 tons, valued at 5 million, 876,152 dollars.
The data showed that the exports of tea companies in the Black Sea region in 2019 amounted to two tons and 853 kilograms, with revenues of 8 million and 459 thousand and 461 dollars.
The Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Federation, Shaban Turgut, told Anatolia, that tea exports contribute significantly to the Turkish economy.
Turgut explained that the increasing popularity of Turkish tea in foreign markets had a positive impact on exports.
He also expected Turkish tea exports to rise in 2020.
