Istanbul Bourse 100 index rises 8.5 percent in November
Istanbul’s main index, BIST 100, witnessed an increase of 8.5% in the month of November, compared to the market closure in October.
According to the official data of the Stock Exchange, the main index closed at 106.903 thousand points at the end of last month’s session, compared to the October transactions closing of 98.468 thousand points.
The rise is driven by improved investor confidence and economic sentiment, the rise in the exchange rates of the Turkish lira against the dollar, the emergence of declining unemployment and inflation indicators and notable economic improvements that Turkey has witnessed recently.
November 19 trading recorded the highest value of the index during the past month at 107.528 thousand points, while November 1 transactions recorded the lowest value at 98.462 thousand points.
